Australian police say a suspected Canadian drug baron has been arrested within the Netherlands on an Interpol warrant
PARIS — A suspected Canadian drug baron has been arrested within the Netherlands on an Interpol warrant, in line with Dutch and Australian police.
The 57-year-old was detained Friday and is of “important curiosity” to Australian and different regulation enforcement businesses, in line with a press release Sunday from the Australian federal police.
It says he was focused as a part of an operation that dismantled a world crime syndicate in 2019 that was accused of buying and selling massive quantities of unlawful medicine and laundering the income. The Australian police plan to hunt his extradition.
Dutch nationwide police tweeted that he was arrested on the request of Australian authorities by way of Interpol. The worldwide police company didn’t touch upon the arrest.
The suspect’s identify was not launched.
